As an artiste, one's acting career can undergo a long time and not fading, there must be a reason. Adam is one of these outstanding people.
During that period, TV fans gave Adam the nickname "Bah yeh Chow." That's because besides being able to mimicker well, he had a broad acting skills and can be called "Thousand-face star" (he can play numerous roles).
Reminiscing from Adam's classic roles, there were many popular artistes participating in the "Book and Sword." Adam played Chan Kar Lok and this role established his handsome, suave and talented ancient leading actor position. Later on, the roles in "Heaven Sword Dragon Sabre" and "Chor Lau Heung," those daihup roles had to be played by Adam. Also in "The Misadventures of Zoo," he played a kind but unknowledgeable Chu Kam Chun. Once Adam was very proud to say that in order to play this comical role, he had used Charlie's style to perform it.
Based on my memory, at that time even Book and Sword's themesong had 2 versions. One sung by Adam while the other one was sung by Roman Tam. When the series aired, Adam's version was more popular than Roman's version. Adam's singing had obviously improved and he was able to sing the song in high spirit. Maybe it was just normal for Roman tam to sing well, it's surprising that Adam could sing so well too. Since then, Adam has been singing numerous series theme songs.
Although the Adam I see in private, always seems as if he's not serious. But when he is filming, he is more serious than anyone else. The deepest impression I got is while filming Luk Siu Fung at the studio, I had gone to the filming set a few times and I had seen Adam spraining his legs; but time after time, he persisted to film with his injury. He didn't use any stand-ins. This is really a professional attitude.
Adam deserves to become the evergreen star in the showbiz. Until today, Adam is still deeply adored by fans.
